Charlesa Thompson
That early curiosity shaped the way I design today: I start with research, listen closely, and build from real community needs.
I love collaborating with engineers, creatives, and founders to turn loose ideas into polished, dependable experiences that people actually enjoy using.
Designing for Community

I do this work because design gives me a way to support people and create real moments of connection. Even something as simple as making holiday cards becomes a way to share care and bring joy into someone’s day. My practice has always been rooted in creating things that make people feel considered, whether the medium is digital, physical, or part of a larger community effort.
That intention is a big part of why I helped build Braid. Our goal is to give people access to textured hair education, create pathways for learning, and make a space where the community feels represented and empowered. I am committed to work that opens doors and makes information more accessible. Braid is one example of how design can create impact in people’s lives, and it continues to shape the kind of designer I want to be.
My work extends beyond screens, supporting local creatives, students, and teams through accessible design, structure, and collaboration.
